Discover the Origin
Yemeni Mokha Matari, Ethiopian Harrar, or a seasonal micro-lot. Our qahwaji will guide your journey.

We Brew by Tradition
Traditional dallah, Turkish cezve, or modern pour-over. Each method is chosen to honor the origin.

Live the Ritual
Sit by Palm Jumeirah, sip slowly, and let 600 years of coffee culture unfold in your cup.
Where Arabian Dusk
Meets Six Centuries of Coffee
As the sun dips behind the Burj Al Arab, our terrace fills with the scent of cardamom and the whisper of cezve bubbling over flame. This is the hour Mokha 1450 was built for.
Guest Experiences on the Palm
"The Yemeni Mokha tasting was unforgettable. The qahwaji walked us through three origins while we looked out at the Palm. A real Dubai gem — not a tourist trap."
"The antique coffee cup collection alone is worth the visit. Then the gahwa arrives with fresh dates and everything clicks. We stayed four hours."
"Booked the private tasting for my team — everyone left talking about the Mokha Matari and the story behind each origin. True hospitality, real heritage."

Six Centuries of Coffee,
One Sanctuary on the Palm
Mokha 1450 is the world's only café-museum dedicated to the heritage of coffee. From the Yemeni port that gave coffee its name to the crescent of Palm Jumeirah today — we curate 600 years of ritual, craft, and Arabian hospitality in every cup.
From the Port of Mokha to Palm Jumeirah
In 1450, the Yemeni port of Mokha became the cradle of the global coffee trade. Sufi masters brewed the beans to stay awake in prayer, and within a century the drink had conquered the Arab world and beyond. Mokha 1450 is our tribute to that moment — the year coffee met hospitality.
Our founders, Khalid Al Mulla and his family, opened Mokha 1450 on Palm Jumeirah as the world's first café-museum dedicated to coffee heritage. Every cup, every artifact, every rare origin we serve tells part of a 600-year story — from Yemeni highlands to Ethiopian villages to modern Dubai.
Today we curate more than forty origins, host private tastings overlooking the Arabian Gulf, and welcome guests who come as much for the stories as for the coffee itself.
What We Stand For
Three pillars guide every cup we serve and every story we tell.
Heritage
Every bean carries a story. We source directly from Yemen, Ethiopia, and beyond — honoring the people and places where coffee began, and the six centuries of ritual that shaped it.
Hospitality
Arabic hospitality is at our core. Every guest arrives as a traveler and leaves as a friend — with a cup in hand, a story shared, and dates on the table.
A Sense of Place
Rooted on Palm Jumeirah, facing the Arabian Gulf. Every detail — the dallahs, the light, the sea breeze — is designed to make time slow down the moment you cross the threshold.
The Keepers of the Ritual
A curator, a qahwaji, and a master roaster — each dedicated to a single craft.
Coffee historian and Q-grader. Khalid travels yearly to Yemen and Ethiopia to source heritage lots and antique artifacts for the museum collection.
Trained in Arabic coffee traditions across Yemen, Oman, and the UAE. Amira leads our heritage tastings and private guest ceremonies.
Third-generation Ethiopian roaster. Yusuf develops our weekly micro-roasts and trains the team in traditional Arabic and Turkish brewing.

From private heritage tastings on Palm Jumeirah to corporate ceremonies, we craft moments around 600 years of coffee tradition.

What People Are Saying
Voices from travelers, residents, and heritage lovers. Rated 4.8 stars from 1,850+ Google reviews.
"A living museum where every cup tells six centuries of story. The Yemen Mokha Matari was transcendent — smoky, winey, impossibly complex. Easily the most meaningful coffee experience in Dubai."
"Brought my parents visiting from London and Amira's private gahwa ceremony left them speechless. The dates and the lineage storytelling paired perfectly. This is what heritage hospitality should feel like."
"Yusuf's Saturday roasting workshop was the highlight of our Dubai trip. We left with green beans, our own roast, and a whole new respect for where coffee comes from. Worth flying in for."
"Stunning terrace overlooking the Palm. My only note — Friday evenings are busy, so book ahead for the heritage tasting. The Arabic Gahwa with cardamom and saffron is unforgettable."
"We hosted a 30-person corporate majlis here and the Mokha 1450 team delivered flawless Emirati hospitality. The heritage storytelling gave our international guests a memory they'll carry home."
"The Curator membership pays for itself. Monthly tastings, the private ceremonies, and the exclusive roast drops — I've learned more about coffee here in a year than in a decade of drinking it."
